THE BUS CONDUCTOR” is a series of multidisciplinary photographs that visualizes bus conductors by using machine and repetition as the core visual metaphor to depict how highly repetitive work can loosen human behavior emotionally and physically. And to conveys as if there is more than one bus conductor providing the service but actually it’s just one bus conductor that performs all of these responsibilities repetitively all alone. A single bus conductor has a range of responsibilities to perform such as collecting fares, making changes, and issuing tickets to hundreds of passengers repetitively a day. These make their repetitive works become relative to a machine work as this job no longer exists in most countries in the world and is done by an electronic machine instead. But because of the fact that this job still exists here, this project aims to empower and raise awareness of their repetitive work and the value of their existence, and question the issue of future replacement as well.
