Exhibition Introduction

About YODEX

“YODEX” was established in 1981, and since TDC took over the execution in 2004, it has strived to further develop the exhibition with emphases on branding, professionalism, and internationalization. Currently, YODEX is one of the most prominent joint design exhibitions by students of different design departments, showcasing works of diverse fields including product design, graphic design, package design, visual communication design, space and landscape design, fashion design, digital media design, and craft design. Every year, over 4,000 entries and 10,000 young designers from 140 departments of over 60 schools participate in the exhibition.

 

In addition to the exhibition, YODEX also features Golden Pin Design Award, and YODEX academia-industry cooperative project, and invites enterprises across sectors to participate, making it the most important platform for discovery of Taiwan's brilliant design talents and outstanding creativity. In 2007, YODEX was recognized by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) as the largest show of student-created designs.

Largest Scale

YODEX is the largest exhibition in terms of scale, participated by design departments of local universities and renowned international design schools. The exhibition also attracts the most visitors, exceeding 80,000 over its four-day period.

Longest History

With the longest history, YODEX is also the largest exhibition in the world for design students, and the best platform for emerging stars to showcase their creativity. YODEX is a professional platform that helps enterprises and design firms discover outstanding design talents.

Most Diverse Fields

YODEX exhibits the most diverse fields, featuring entries in the categories of product and craft design, visual communications design, digital multimedia design, spatial and architectural design, apparel and fashion design, and interdisciplinary integrated design. Over 10,000 students participate in the exhibition, submitting over 4,000 entries.

Trendiest Awards

The Young Pin Design Award is administered by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Education with the Taiwan Design Research Institute and the Good Design Association Taiwan acting as the actual organizers. In 2015, the transformation of this award from Yoda to Young Pin, coupled with its connection to the prestigious, international Golden Pin Design Award, makes it one of the most important awards for emerging designers in Taiwan.
